Exclusive: here’s your first look at the Redmi A3

[ad_1]

The Redmi A series is Xiaomi’s most affordable smartphone line and it’s about go grow bigger – literally, the Redmi A3 will have a 6.71” display, as can be seen in photos sent to us by a tipster.

For comparison, the Redmi A1 and A2 both had 6.52” displays. Besides having a bigger panel, the A3 will also be the first in the series to offer a high refresh rate – just 90Hz, but keep in mind that this series sells for less than ₹10,000. Usually much less than that, the base A2 was ₹6,300 ($75/€70) at launch.

That one only had a 2/32GB configuration, while the top of the line A2+ model was equipped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. Looking at the other side of the box, the A3 will have an option with 128GB storage and 4GB of RAM. This is likely the highest specced model.

The design of the Redmi A1 was fairly subdued and the A2 series reused it. The Redmi A3 looks quite different with an imposing camera bump that looks to be the size of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra bump. Not that the camera housed inside will be anything like the Ultra, the two previous models had basic 8MP cameras with depth sensors. This one might bring an upgrade, but we wouldn’t bet on it since the screen and storage are already pushing the budget of the series.

We haven’t heard anything about the Redmi A3, but it should launch fairly soon, considering that the retail packages appear ready to go.

We would like to specially thank our anonymous tipster!
